Awesome!!! Your completely right about the neurofunk/liquid funk divide, there is so much use of the neurobass, and we have forgotten the old gems... Couple of years ago i discovered some older DnB songs, and they are so good, so well produced so they dont give you a headache after 30 mins on full bass :D (One of my favourites is Drifter - Deeper Love)
Anyway your song is very nice, remindes of the oldies... Im currently thinking of dropping the strive for the neurobass thingy and create something smoother :)

Very nice, very nice indeed, i will be looking forward to the full track ( I WILL BUY IT FROM YE!!!! :D ).
Im a fan of this spacey ambient track (from EVE Online, gosh how i love the music in that game...) and this portraits the same thing.
The synths are really nice, everything is flowing togehter, there are no abrupt moments to disrupt my listening, the melody somehow actually fits everything going on the background... Really diggin the trumpet(am i correct?) near the end, really fits there and makes this track feel even more crazy-good...
Please let me know when you will put the full version of this to somewhere so i can download it to my MP3 player!

Recently with the OMG moment of Rebecca Black and the constant shitstorm of new and bad artists and shitty songs stacking onto eachother its a refreshing thing to hear an actually good(i mean awesome) song/track. Its really this great, i havent heard anything this good in a while!
The very beginning had a creepy feeling so i wasnt sure where the song was gonna go but then it turned into soothing track, i was amazed at this point. This song is very solid throughout, it has no so-called "boredom points" etc. where you lose intrest in the song for some time...
Im really digging the choice of the instruments, this should be in a really cool RPG game (something in ancient China or something :P), and back to the instruments, they all fit together very nicely.
One thing i would complain about would be the hats that hit too hard (one at 1:00) and it kinda breaks my listening for second...
Otherwise, im impressed, and im not easily impressed to be honest so good job!

Yeah I know the intro isn't exactly as uplifting as the rest of the track :P. It was Echo's idea to add the ambiance there at the beginning, and initially we had also thrown in a 'birds-chirping' effect at the beginning, but the person who was making the game didn't like them so we killed the introduction birds :3. But yeah it can be a bit misleading.

That's great to hear! I always try my best to make sure there's enough variety to keep the listener interested.

Glad you liked the instrumentation! Like I said in the Author's comments, this was actually going to be in an RPG. We lost contact with the game artist for some reason though :S.

Oops lol. We tried to make that transition all epic and stuff so we might've made the reverse cymbal/cymbal hit a bit too loud. Can't change it now though - I lost the project file...

Thanks a lot for the supportive and lengthy review! I'll see if I can review back, although it's going to be a bit hard because I'm currently studying for my o-levels which means 11 subjects to study for...
For your first track (in FL Studio, seems like you have some experience ;) this is incredebly well done, the mastering is awesome, the synths are awesome, they fit to one another, overall, its awesome!!! I dont really know much to criticize about other then you should have had some solid melody in there or smth... Otherwise, NICE!

Really liked this track, everything has its own place here and it has very good ambiance to it.
Two things i didnt like: The string samples you have kinda give it away that this wasnt a recording, you should try to tweak them so all your classical instruments samples emit a feeling as they were recorded in a studio etc.
Second, the harmonies the piano played were ok but could have been better. Dont take these too harsh as these are just tips on what to improve on...

I must say i usually am not a fan of dubstep and dont listen to it usually, but i decided to have a go and i must say, i am not displeased :D
Very nice intro, like the Dirty Harry quotes here, really gives it character etc.
I dig the wobble bass youve got here, i must disagree with the ppl below as too much low-pass would make it really hard to equalize and be shitton of trouble to actually sidechain properly... GJ here
Few dislikes aswell but these are really minor:
The percussion should have the high-pass trimmed abit as its really irritating and causes some ear-rape. Also you could have "legato"d some places to give it more flavor. Other then that, this track is pure gold! 9/10 5/5 -Minor Light
thanks man, i agree with what you said eqing the bass the song is so compressed thats the best i could make it sound without messing everything else up and sorry about the percussion related ear rape lol ill fix that in the vip if i ever make one.
Very chill song imo...
The beginning was abit rough for my taste but it wasnt anything too dislike-able. So 2 minutes into the song i was going "meh" but then at 2:52 that high-pitched comes in and adds the missing layer so for the next 3 minutes this song is awesome :)
The ending is kinda plain but i dont mind that, as it gets calmer n stuff.
Overall i found the beginning to be abit aggressive but it kinda smoothed out throughout the song making this a very enjoyable piece to listen to...

Have you actually heard Drum and Bass? (Apex, Unknown Error, Spor, Noisia whatever the artist) This is not Drum and Bass. This is a track with no content what so ever!
Next time please actually get some average drum samples, incorporate a bass, and maybe actually include something in the song other then beeping and some over-tempo beats.

i listen to plenty of dnb, like ak1200, aphrodite, and dj starscream - maybe just not the same stuff you listen to. i wasn't trying to make a song that epitomizes the genre, in fact you'll find that a lot of my music is influenced by jungle, psytrance, ambient, and dub. i wasn't quite going for the kind of dnb your describing because, like always, i was going for something a little bit unconventional. i'm not claiming that this is the best example of dnb in the world, in fact it was really more of a practice for myself. i just wish more people on this website reviewed songs based on their content, not how well they conform to the genre they're under - i believe that musical evolution and originality both die with conformity.
aside from that, i understand that my samples suck, that's just part of having no money and submitting my music for free. and i used two different bass synths in this song as a matter of fact, i just didn't overdrive and whore the fuck out of them (this time). but i do believe that songs with this much effort put into them deserve higher than a 1 vote - after all, there's much, much worse stuff in the portal.
This is not what i expected to be your 500th song to be honest... And it did not meet my expectations.
First of all your genre is Drum and Bass, but from the impression of your song I would say its just Bass since the drums were too weak to be noticed, all and all, they are too sloppy for my taste...
The reese... its OK i guess but it fails to bring in any variety to the song. The mid-pass resonant version of it is just annoying. Other then that its just a bass but nothing else since it Fails to achieve anything else.
Other synths here are OK too i guess though they fail to create any kind of atmosphere... That said they are just too -insert adjective here- to fit together... Also this makes me wonder where are those 177 patterns? I think you should have put more effort into automation...
Overall, my opinion is that this song is not worthy of being your 500th song since its just way too much mid-pass/high-end and it fails to create any kind of an atmosphere for itself...
The only thing i liked in this song was " A Nuclear detonation at very high altitude" since I'm sort of a nuke man :P

I must say, a very nice musical piece indeed... Though i cant give you and CC since there is not much to say here lol...
There was thing i didnt like so much and it was the ending. It sound kind of too rough to me and could have used some more umm... ending-ness? :)
